Begin your journey in Macedonia’s vibrant capital city, where you’ll have the chance to explore a blend of ancient and modern architecture. Known for its rugged peaks and alpine meadows, the Shar Mountains are a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, and adventure seekers. You’ll enjoy hiking or e-bike tours through scenic landscapes, taking in views that stretch across Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania. The area is also rich in flora and fauna, including endemic plants and rare wildlife.
Covering forests, rivers, and mountain valleys, Mavrovo National Park is one of Macedonia’s most beautiful natural reserves. Here, you can go horse riding along forest trails, experience the park’s stunning biodiversity, and visit the iconic submerged St. Nicholas Church. Set out on a guided hike through Pelister’s breathtaking trails, which take you through ancient pine forests, lush meadows, and across panoramic mountain ridges. Established in 1948, Pelister is Macedonia’s oldest national park and is home to the iconic Molika pine tree (Pinus peuce), a rare five-needled pine species that only grows in select areas of the Balkans. The park’s varied terrain also supports a wealth of wildlife, from eagles and chamois to bears and rare butterfly species.
During the hike, you’ll traverse trails that reveal sweeping views of the Pelagonia Valley and the mountains of Albania and Greece. One of the highlights of the tour is the chance to visit Pelister’s unique glacial lakes, known as the Pelister Eyes.
